Bower Spring Cementation Furnace

Description: Visit the recently restored 200 year old Scheduled Ancient Monument in the ownership of the South Yorkshire Industrial History Society. This is one of only 3 furnaces of its type in the UK. Hear the history of the site and learn how blister steel was made in the furnace. The site also had crucible furnaces and made files for 100 years. No special clothing required and access on the level from public footpath.

A member of the Society will be on site during the stated times, but arrangements can be made to obtain access at other times for interested parties.
