About the Event
There are many types of rocks used in the buildings and streets of Sheffield City Centre.Β Join us for a walking tour around the city centre pointing out the rocks used for structural and decorative purposes.Β Some of these are of local origin, while others come from distant countries.Β Observations of the features these rocks contain,Β tell us about their manner of formation.Β We will also consider why are the rocks were selected and how suitable they are for their present function.Β Β Meet at the Women of Steel Statue, outside the City Hall in Barkers Pool.Β Β
