Heeley City Farm

Heeley City Farm Heeley City Farm grew from a campaign by local people to develop a piece of waste land in 1981 to a multi faceted community organisation supporting 50 members of staff, hundreds of volunteers and offering work experience for disadvantaged young people and adults with learning difficulties. Today it is a working farm, environmental enterprise, training centre and free visitor attraction. The farm also manages local food growing sites at Wortley Hall Walled Garden, Meersbrook Park Walled Garden, Firth Park Children's Centre Allotment and various other school and community gardens. Heeley City Farm Heeley City Farm is an inner-city farm providing a range of integrated services and activities for the local and citywide community including employment, play, youthwork, youth and adult training, education, health and therapeutic services, older peoples' activities, heritage projects, annually attracting 100,000 visitors - with organic gardens, farm and smaller animals, low-energy buildings, wind turbines, green waste management, Farm Kitchen Café, Garden Centre and much more.
