Heeley City Farm
Heeley City Farm is an inner-city farm providing a range of integrated services and activities for the local and citywide community including employment, play, youthwork, youth and adult training, education, health and therapeutic services, older peoples' activities, heritage projects, annually attracting 100,000 visitors - with organic gardens, farm and smaller animals, low-energy buildings, wind turbines, green waste management, Farm Kitchen Café, Garden Centre and much more.
Heeley City Farm grew from a campaign by local people to develop a piece of waste land in 1981 to a multi faceted community organisation supporting 40 plus members of staff, hundreds of volunteers and offering work experience for disadvantaged young people and adults with learning difficulties.
Today Heeley City Farm provides a range of integrated services and activities for the local and citywide community including employment, play, youthwork, youth and adult training, education, health and therapeutic services, dementia care programmes, older peoples' activities, heritage projects, annually attracting 100,000 visitors - with organic gardens, farm and smaller animals, low-energy buildings, wind turbines, green waste management, Farm Kitchen Café, Garden Centre, outdoor classroom, Heritage Craft Centre and much more.
The farm also manages a network of school and community local food growing sites including Wortley Hall Walled Garden, Meersbrook Park Walled Garden, Firth Park Community Allotment, Norfolk Park Community Food Growing Garden, St Swithuns Church (Manor), Dovercourth GP Surgery (Skye Edge), Lowedges Firestation, St Marys Church (Handsworths) and Gleadless Valley Methodist Church.

Heeley City Farm open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. 7 days as week. Admission is free, but we welcome donations. There is disabled access throughout the site and we have Changing Places standard toilets.
