Meet At | Norfolk Arms pub 2 Ringinglow Village Sheffield S11 7TS |
Organised By | Norfolk Arms Ringinglow Walking Group |
Description | Six Edges Challenge! This walk takes us along some of the Peak District’s most iconic gritstone edges. Froggatt, Curbar, Baslow, Gardom’s, Birchin and White are the edges with paths on this route being quite varied, ranging from rocky to muddy and marshy, as well as some well-trodden ancient paths and tracks. There is just one steep hill to tackle which is a short, sharp 5 minute climb to get us to the top of Birchin Edge, and then there’s a bit of a tricky descent to get us back down. The walk is 11.25 miles long including stops and should take around 6 hours to complete. £12 charge payable to the pub includes hot drinks before and after the walk and a light lunch. |
