| Description | Norfolk Arms Walking Festival - Walk no 1 - Burbage Rocks. 4.5 mile circular walk starting from Upper Burbage Bridge and taking place above both sides of the Burbage Valley, all of which is just within the Sheffield city boundary. With fantastic views throughout the walk we will also visit an iron age fort on the route, and also climb the iconic Higgar Tor, a gritstone landmark of the Dark Peak. This is not an easy walk with there being rocky uneven paths throughout the walk, and some sections which can get quite muddy after rain. Stout footwear is recommended for this walk which should take two and a half hours to complete. Meet at the pub at 9am for tea/coffee and to register with the walk commencing at 9.30 prompt. £10 charge payable to the pub includes hot drinks before and after the walk and lunch from the pub's menu. |
