Description | A free guided geology walk about 1 km through Sheffield City Centre looking and talking about the rocks used in the construction and decoration of buildings and pavements. The rocks range in age from very ancient geological times, while others are more recent, they formed in different ways and vary in properties and appearances. Why were they chosen and what can they tell us about earth history? We will attempt to answer these questions as we consider the richness of our geological heritage. There is no need to book. No previous knowledge is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult. |
