Description | Phantom Architecture: The Great Buildings That Never Got off the Drawing Board In his book Phantom Architecture, Philip Wilkinson discovers that some of the most exciting buildings in the history of architecture are the ones that never got built. A skyscraper one mile high, a dome covering most of downtown Manhattan, a triumphal arch in the form of an elephant: These are amongst the projects in which architects took materials to the limits, explored challenging new ideas, defied conventions, and pointed the way towards the future. Note time of event is 6.45pm – 7.45pm Booking for this event is via www.sheffieldlibraries.eventbrite.co.uk If you require more details contact the library. |
