Description | An event led by Peter Kennett, retired Head of Geology at High Storrs School. We shall examine a range of rock types in several places between the starting point and the top of the Crags, seeking evidence for how they might have formed, and trying to model the processes with sand and water. The influence of the geology on the landscape will also be discussed. The leader is interested in the sources of Sheffield building stones and is hoping to benefit from local wisdom! Bring strong footwear and (just in case) waterproofs. |
